Buraq’s existing web presence wasn’t performing — slow, outdated, and every content update required a developer. For a brand that needed to communicate regularly with a public audience, that dependency was a bottleneck. The site also had no real SEO foundation, limiting discoverability.
What I was brought in to do
Deliver a modern, performant public web platform that the Buraq team could manage on their own after handover.
What I built
A Next.js frontend using server-side and static generation for SEO-optimised rendering, integrated with a WordPress CMS backend. This let the content team publish, update, and manage the blog and site content without touching code or raising a ticket.
Performance and SEO were written into the acceptance criteria from the start, rather than audited at the end, and cross-device QA ran throughout so the experience stayed consistent across desktop and mobile. I worked closely with the designers to make sure the technical execution reflected the Buraq brand accurately, not just correctly.
The handover was part of the delivery rather than an afterthought, which meant documentation written for the content team and not only for the engineers.
The result
I handed over a fast, responsive, SEO-ready public platform that the Buraq team could operate on their own. Content updates that had previously required developer time could now be made in minutes.
