Racelookup - Race & Sports Event Management Platform

Web AppsMarketplaceSportsEvent Management

The situation

Race directors and sports event organisers were promoting events through fragmented channels — social media, email lists, third-party sites with no central home. Athletes looking for their next race had to check multiple places. There was no single destination for sports event discovery, and no scalable system for organisers to manage listings, reach participants, and track engagement.

What I was hired to do

Deliver a centralised sports event discovery and management platform. End-to-end, four months.

What I actually built

A web platform where organisers and clubs could list events, manage profiles, and reach a broader audience — and where athletes could discover races, filter by type and location, and find relevant clubs and activities in one place.

Integrated payments, mapping, and athlete activity data APIs — each integration carrying its own delivery risk. Coordinated cloud-based architecture to support the performance and scalability a public-facing discovery platform requires. QA cycles validated the integrations, the user journeys, and the cross-device experience before anything went live.

Stakeholder engagement ran across event organisers and the platform owner throughout — keeping the feature set grounded in how organisers actually work, not how we assumed they did.

The result

A production-ready sports event platform live at racelookup.com. Organisers could reach athletes directly. Athletes had one place to find what they were looking for.

Delivered clean. Their move now.
